About The Leadership at GPC

• The Elders As members of the Session, the 18 Elders guide the direction of the church in all its aspects including: administration and personnel; budget; building use; Christian education; church heritage; major gifts and bequests; membership, outreach and roll revision; mission; nominating; stewardship commitment; and worship. In 2005 the Board of Trustees merged with the Session, including their responsibilities to coordinate the financial assets of the congregation and to oversee the upkeep of the physical facility. The Session meets the third Thursday of every month and each Elder serves for a 3-year term.

• The Deacons GPC has 30 Deacons who minister directly to the congregation under the direction of the Session in the areas of hospitality, parish zone, outreach, families in transition and membership care. The Deacons meet the first Wednesday of every month and serve for three-year terms.

Each year the Nominating Committee asks for nominations to fill vacancies on these two boards. Self nominations are welcome.
