Advent Lecture Series: Dec. 7, 14, & 21

Messianic Reflections: Judaism and Christianity in Light of Advent

As we enter the Advent season, we are summoned to reflection, humility, and hope.  This year we will be exploring the complex and often troubled relationships between Christian and Jewish communities--both in history and the present. Our three lectures will invite us to ponder the Jewishness of Jesus and the importance of the Jewish-Christian relationship in our time.

Dec. 7 - The Advent and Judaism: Revisiting a Difficult History

Dec. 14 - The Advent and Handel's Messiah: Interpreting the Old Testament Musically

Dec. 21 - The Advent and Expectation: How Jesus' Second Coming Speaks to Our Deepest Concerns

All lectures will take place at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday mornings in the Washington Room. Sponsored by the Adult Issues Class and the Adult Ministries Committee. Open to everyone.
