Join us for Holy Week

On Palm Sunday, March 20 during the 11am service, we will incorporate the Gabriel Fauré's Requiem into our worship liturgy. Premiered in 1900 in Paris, this beautiful choral work has become a beloved staple of the repertoire. As Fauré himself put it best, the Requiem treat death “as a happy deliverance, an aspiration towards happiness above, rather than as a painful experience.” The GPC choir will be accompanied by a new chamber version of the work scored for solo violin, cello, harp and organ.

On Maundy Thursday, March 24th at a 6:30pm service we will gather for a communal meal and worship service.  We will meet in our fellowship hall for dinner, singing, prayer, and the celebration of the Lord's Supper.  No need to RSVP - all are most welcome.

On Good Friday, March 25th we will worship at noon with our ecumenical service at Holy Trinity Georgetown.  This service will be 90 minutes in length and feature meditation from seven of our local clergy on the seven last words of Christ.  Holy Trinity Church is located at 3513 N St NW, Washington, DC 20007.
We will also worship at GPC at 6:30pm with a Tenebrae Service.  This service will focus on the darkness of the season with prayers, singing, candles and a reflection by Rev. Murray titled Always Thirsty.

On Easter morning, March 27th, we will have two identical services at 9:30am and 11:15am.  Brass musicians, fragrant flowers, and joyful prayers will help us celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ.  An Easter egg hunt for children will be held between the services beginning at 10:45am in the church courtyard.  All neighborhood children and visitors are welcome to participate in the hunt.
