Reform

In case high sugar levels caused you to miss it, yesterday was Reformation Day! On October 31st, 1517, Martin Luther nailed his 95 theses on the church door in Wittenberg, Germany. Martin Luther cared deeply about the state of the church, the study of the Bible, and the use of church funds. These passions and beliefs effectively started the Protestant Reformation. Some historians have said the church today is going through its own reformation - culling, revisioning, and righting itself for God's service. If that is the case, then I pray GPC will be a church that creatively engages our modern context whilst faithfully adhering to the essential tenets of our faith.

Surely, God can and will reform us, if we are humble enough to be changed, faithful enough to endure, and loving enough to stick together. May that be our prayer for the reformations happening in our churches and our lives.

God bless you. Onwards!
